Foundations Ministries Auction Coming Up
The students of Foundations Ministries are having an Auction on Saturday, November 25 in order to raise funds for their rapidly approaching Missions trip. They are actually auctioning themselves off in a Work / Date auction. Click the Read More link below to find out all about it.

Hi! We leave for Nicaragua in ten days. Yes, we're excited, and yes, we're trying to get everything finished up here before we leave. The students have been working hard on their fundraising. I'm very proud of the initiative they've taken to raise their support. Here is their final project, which I told them I'd tell you about: they are putting on an auction--for themselves! I think these are usually called "Bachelor Auctions." Ours is a Date/Work Auction, because the winning bidder can opt for either a date with their team member of choice OR they can put that team member to work--doing yard work, painting, cleaning, grocery shopping, or whatever work needs to be done. I know which I'm cheering for! The folks at Solomon's Porch (the ministry we volunteer with every Thursday) are helping us organize AND hosting the event (they ROCK!) and two of the Solomon's Porch volunteers have offered to put themselves up for Auction to help us out.

Auction Details:

Saturday, November 25th
Bidding Starts at Noon--Dessert included!
Solomon's Porch --they Rock!)
17 S. Mission, Wenatchee (next to Liberty Theater)

We are going for a tasteful, fun event with clear parameters on what the dates will involve--and not involve. ;-) I must say, when they first suggested the bachelor auction idea, I had serious doubts. But I've talked with several people, including board members, who tell me that they've seen it done well and beyond reproach.

SO...if you are in the area, please come by if you can and support the missions efforts, have some dessert, get yourself some labor for hire. Remember, these guys have spent 3 months filling in the trench, cutting firewood, et al. They are well-prepared for that work you need done. Or, you could go bowling...

If you are NOT in the area, please add this to your prayers for our mission trip.

No, I'm not up for auction. There is a certain, very limited, dignity to being the Director of this ministry, and I'm clinging to it by my fingernails. Oh, and I haven't been a bachelor for 13 1/2 years now!

Joyfully and with a wry Grin,

Mike
